rn Scotchcast™ Re-enterable Electrical Resin 2123 is a soft, two-part polybutadiene resin encapsulant designed especially for re- enterable splice protection. It is formulated for virtually every electrical application requiring a soft, re-enterable resin with good handling and performance characteristics. This resin is also used as the insulating material for cable splices operating at 10 00 volts, and is rated for continuous use at 194ºF (90ºC) with an overload rating of at266ºF (130ºC). It may be stocked to covermost re-enterable resin needs, ending the need for multiple encapsulant inventories.

rnrn A New Re-Enterable Insulating Resin from 3M.
rnrn There’s a new 3M product for protecting electrical connections from water. 3M™ Scotchcast™ Re-enterable Electrical Insulating Resin 2123 is a polybutadiene resin that is mixed in its own two-part bag to easily and reliably insulate and seal electrical connections from water.
rnrn 3M Scotchcast Re-enterable Electrical Insulating Resin 2123 is formulated for electrical applications requiring a soft and re-enterable encapsulant with good handling and performance characteristics. The new resin 2123 can be used in many existing applications because it will adhere not only to itself but also to discontinued
rnrn 3M Scotchcast Re-enterable Electrical Insulating
rnrn Resin 2112, which it replaces.
rnrn Resin 2123 is excellent for applications with constant exposure to water, including potting flush-mounted junction boxes. It is softer and easier to re-enter than resin 2112 with a low viscosity that flows well at low temperatures, filling closures and minimizing voids. Resin 2123 meets high standards of protection and has been tested to IEC 60243 and VDE 0303-4.
rnrn Recommend 3M Scotchcast Re-enterable Electrical Insulating Resin 2123 to replace existing use of resin 2112 and reduce the need for multiple encapsulants. Resin 2123 should be recommended for insulating cable splices operating at 1000 volts or less and rated for continuous use at 194° F (90°C) with an overload rating of 266°F (130°C).
