The 3M™ Cold shrink splicing products are designed using 3M's unique cold shrink delivery system. Products are supplied pre-stretched on a removable core for efficiency and ease of installation.

 

3M™ Heat Shrink products provide reliable performance for electrical splices and terminations, as well as mechanical and environmental protection. 3M™ Resin Splices offer a high degree of mechanical strength for physical protection of connections and moisture-resistant insulation in above ground or direct burial applications.

 

Cold Shrink Splices

3M’s cold-shrink products are pre-stretched on a removable core so they will shrink to fit to ensure a permanent, durable environmental seal and protection. This helps you reduce the time, labor and cost involved in a variety of electrical cable splicing applications. These kits are applicable for indoor and outdoor installations, including direct burial, aerial and submersible applications. Each kit requires 1 roll of 3M™ Armorcast™ Material. The 3M™ Splice Kit 8420 Series is an EPDM rubber splice for 0-1000 volts. The 3M™ Splice Kit Series 8440 includes insulating sleeves made from a specially formulated high-temperature silicone rubber with an operating temperature range from -67° F (-55° C) to 500° F (260° C).

Cold shrink 8440 series silicone insulators are insulating sleeves made from specially formulated high-temperature silicone rubber.

Tapes

Scotch® Linerless Rubber Splicing Tape 130C is a highly conformable, linerless, high-voltage insulating tape that provides excellent thermal dissipation of splice heat. It meets industry specifications and has excellent physical and electrical properties which provide immediate moisture seal and void-free buildups.

 

Scotch® Super 33+ Vinyl Electrical Tape is a premium grade, all-weather vinyl electrical insulating tape with an aggressive adhesive and elastic backing that enables it to easily conform to irregular surfaces for water-resistant electrical and mechanical protection. This tape provides flexibility and easy handling for all around performance. It combines PVC backing with excellent electrical insulating properties to provide primary electrical insulation for splices up to 600V and protective jacketing.

 

Scotch® Rubber Mastic Tape 2228 is a conformable self-fusing rubber electrical insulating and sealing tape. This rubber mastic tape consists of Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR) backing coated with a strong, temperature-stable mastic adhesive. Use this tape to insulate, pad, and seal bus bar and splice connections.

 

Scotch® Super 33+ Vinyl Electrical Tape

A black, 7 mil premium grade all-weather vinyl electrical insulating tape with an aggressive adhesive and elastic backing that enables it to easily conform to irregular surfaces for water-resistant electrical and mechanical protection.

Scotch® Premium Vinyl Electrical Tape Super 88

A black, 8.5 mil heavy duty, premium grade all-weather vinyl electrical insulating tape that maintains conformability for cold weather applications.

Scotch® 2228 Rubber Mastic Tape is a conformable self-fusing rubber electrical insulating and sealing tape.
